Four minute walk through

30/11/17 - 4MWT TERM 4 2017 Self re ection ­ Template: 4W Framework ­ Visible to all What’s happening and why? ­ Teachers are utilising small groups to carry out assessment and pastoral care. ­ Older children are being tuakana's by sharing their learning around sun safety. ­ Children were engaged and happy with a variety of activities. What’s not happening & why? We have tried to add more hands­on options for our middle learners after reflecting on our last walkthrough in the j some extent however after revisiting this space I wonder how many opportunities our children have in our space fo need to foster? What am I going to do to influence what is not happening? I would hope that moving into our new 'village' structure those children who still want to play with toy kitchens or pu the 'junior' spaces much more easily. 27/09/17 - COPS TERM 3 Self reflection   - Visible to all Edit  |  Delete 1.what are you taking action with and why. I am continuing to use project based learning to integrate the different areas of maths for my learners. I have tweaked this since last term to make sure I am covering more strategy. I found although the children really enjoyed the bakery project and definitely learned a lot I struggled to make sure I was covering and 'ticking off' the knowledge they needed. To fix this I decided to give my children a quick one-on-one knowledge test and then integrate these gaps into the new project. 2.what new learning are you taking from all of this. Project based learning is a really powerful tool for learners to see the links between maths and the real world. 21/11/17 - FINAL SPIRAL REFLECTION Self reflection   - Visible to all Edit  |  Delete WHO HAVE YOU WORKED WITH : Benji Motoi, Jayden Hitchens, Jayda Finn-Waihape, Chloe Stewart, Temperence Oliver, Elsie Billington, William Wiffen-Lal, Caitlin Browne HOW DID YOU GAIN THE INFORMATION : We interviewed each child based on the questions formulated as a middle school. We also talked to the parents of each child about maths. The final area of information we used was data based testing. Overall we found that the children selected had negative feelings about maths and were quite confused about what maths was. The parents reiterated this saying their children found maths overwhelming or confusing at times.
