Teaching Portfolio

This feedback was in response to an assessment piece I added to Seesaw. I chose to include it in my portfolio as it is a family who were new to the school this year and I spent a lot of time building a relationship with. It shows effective practice as the tone of the message is positive and informal showing I have a strong relationship with this family. They have also thanked me for helping their daughter make progress in an area they were concerned about.

This example shows evidence of a next step in practice in order to achieve improved student outcomes. Through watching these provocations it has helped me to realise the importance of teaching these 'soft-skills' more explicitly. I think as primary school teachers we are alway teaching and modelling these skills but it may not be obvious to our students that they are developing them. To change my practice I am going to make sure I use more of this language with my students to highlight when they are showing these skills.
